Walk & Talk
The walking cure?
Solvitar ambulado… That’s Latin for “It is solved by walking.”
You know something has been around for a while when there’s a Latin saying for it.
And walking is definitely one of the most time-honored mind and body wellness practices.
Some well-known thinkers have used walking to regulate their active minds.
The philosopher Nietzsche went so far as to declare, “All truly great thoughts are conceived while walking.”
Get the combined benefits of therapy and exercise.
More recently, research has backed the many physical and mental health benefits of walking, including:
-Relief from both depression and anxiety
-Decreased chances of obesity
-Curbed cravings for sweets
-Reduced risks of some cancers
-Improved immunity against colds and flu
An effective outdoor alternative to office or online sessions.
Outdoor Walk & Talk meetings are ideal for:
-Early risers who want some outdoor time before peak Texas heat
-Aspiring early risers who need a good reason and some friendly accountability to cultivate the life-enhancing practice of starting strong
-Bringing your leashed dog to your session (yes, dogs are welcome!)
-Bringing your kid(s) in a stroller (yes, stroller-friendly infants and toddlers are welcome too!)
-Discovering — and finally beating — the common barriers to developing an exercise routine while actually getting some light cardio!
-Anyone wanting a powerful alternative to traditional sitting and talking versions of therapy, counseling, and coaching.
A convenient urban escape.
We will walk and talk along a semi-private tree-lined series of trails with greenbelt views. The mostly gravel paths are well-maintained for comfort and relatively low-trafficked for added privacy.
The location is easily accessible from Central and North Austin, Cedar Park, and Round Rock. It features plenty of off-street parking, covered waiting areas, and several clean restrooms.
It really is a small urban oasis.
I feel fortunate to have found it.
And even more grateful to share it.
